The Red maple 'Sun Valley' (Acer rubrum) is a cone-shaped tree that produces dark red flowers. They appear from March to April. The Red maple 'Sun Valley' also has medium green leaves. In a sunny location with lime-free, nutrient-rich, moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 15 metres and grows to a width of approx. 10 metres.

Red maple 'Sun Valley' is a conical growing tree with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 15 m and is approx. 6 - 10 m wide. It usually grows 30 - 40 cm per year.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Red maple 'Sun Valley's are medium green, opposite, lobed. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Red maple 'Sun Valley' turns a bright scarlet red in autumn.

Flower

The dark red flowers appear from March to April.

Root

Acer rubrum 'Sun Valley' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.
