Acer campestre 'Nanum'

Field Maple 'Nanum' is a dense, compact and rounded large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 6 - 8 m and is approx. 4 - 8 m wide. Slow growing. It usually grows 20 - 30 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Field Maple 'Nanum's are dark green, opposite, lobed. They are about 5 - 10 cm in size. Field Maple 'Nanum' turns bright orange-yellow in autumn.

The greenish-yellow flowers of Field Maple 'Nanum' appear in panicles in May.

Acer campestre 'Nanum' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Field Maple 'Nanum' has good frost hardiness.

Normal soil.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Cut and saw wounds as well as broken branches should be treated with a wound dressing as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.

This plant is tolerant of pruning.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
