The Red maple 'Scanlon' (Acer rubrum) is a columnar small tree that produces dark red flowers arranged in clusters. They appear from March to April. The Red maple 'Scanlon' also has shiny, medium green leaves. Its bark is grey. In a sunny location with lime-free, nutrient-rich, moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 12 metres and grows to a width of approx. 4 metres.

Red maple 'Scanlon' is a columnar small tree with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 12 m and is approx. 3 - 4 m wide.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Red maple 'Scanlon's are medium green, glossy, opposite, lobed. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Red maple 'Scanlon' turns bright orange-red in autumn.

Bark

Grey bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The dark red flowers of Red maple 'Scanlon' appear in clusters from March to April.

Root

Acer rubrum 'Scanlon' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.
