The Red maple 'Armstrong' (Acer rubrum) is a columnar small tree that produces orange-coloured flowers arranged in clusters. They appear in April. The Red maple 'Armstrong' also has medium green leaves. Its bark is silver-grey. In a sunny location with lime-free, nutrient-rich, moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.

Red maple 'Armstrong' is a columnar small tree with a closed crown. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 15 m and is approx. 3 - 5 m wide. Rapidly growing.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Red maple 'Armstrong's are medium green, opposite, lobed. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Red maple 'Armstrong' turns bright orange-red in autumn.

Bark

Silver-grey bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The orange-coloured flowers of Red maple 'Armstrong' appear in clusters in April.

Root

Acer rubrum 'Armstrong' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.
