The Norway maple 'Drummondii' (Acer platanoides) is a dense, pyramidal, deciduous small tree with decorative, light green leaves with a white margin. The light pink-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears greenish-yellow flowers arranged in umbels from April to May. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 12 metres and is around 9 metres wide. The Norway maple 'Drummondii' makes no particular demands on the soil.

Growth

Norway maple 'Drummondii' is a dense and pyramidal small tree. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 12 m and is approx. 7 - 9 m wide. Slow growing.

Leaves

High leaf ornamental value. The deciduous leaves of the Norway maple 'Drummondii's are light green, opposite, lobed and have a white margin. They are about 15 - 20 cm tall. Light pink-coloured shoots. Norway maple 'Drummondii' turns bright yellow in autumn.

Bark

Dark grey bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The greenish-yellow flowers of Norway maple 'Drummondii' appear in umbels from April to May.

Root

Acer platanoides 'Drummondii' is a heartroot and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
