Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki'

Japanese maple 'Osakazuki' is a bushy and broad-growing large shrub. It usually reaches a height of 4 - 6 m and is approx. 4 - 6 m wide. Rapidly growing. It usually grows 15 - 20 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Japanese maple 'Osakazuki's are medium green, opposite, lobed. They are about 6 - 10 cm in size. Copper-brown, early shoots. Japanese maple 'Osakazuki' turns bright crimson in autumn.

The purple-red flowers of the Japanese maple 'Osakazuki' appear in clusters in May.

Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' is a shallow-rooted plant and, depending on the soil, forms finely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected position.

The Japanese maple 'Osakazuki' has good frost hardiness.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

- Cut and saw wounds as well as broken branches should be treated with a wound sealant as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.
- Frozen shoots are cut back to the healthy wood as soon as there is no longer any risk of frost.

This plant is tolerant of pruning.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
