The Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum' (Acer cappadocicum) is an upright small tree that produces pale yellow flowers arranged in panicles. They appear from May to June. The Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum' also has dark green leaves. The blood-red shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 10 metres.

Growth

Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum' is an upright growing small tree. It usually reaches a height of 10 - 15 m and is approx. 6 - 10 m wide. As a rule, it grows 30 - 40 cm per year.

Shoots

The shoots of Acer cappadocicum 'Rubrum' are red-brown in colour.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of the Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum's are dark green, opposite, lobed. They are about 8 - 14 cm in size. Blood-red shoots. Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum' turns bright golden yellow in autumn.

Flower

The light yellow flowers of Cappadocian maple 'Rubrum' appear in panicles from May to June.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.
