Double-Flowering Horse Chestnut 'Baumannii' (Aesculus hippocastanum) is a rounded, picturesque, upright large tree that produces white, panicle-arranged flowers. These appear from May to June. The tree also has palmate, dark green leaves. Its bark is dark gray and scaly. It thrives in a sunny to semi-shady location with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Under favorable conditions, it typically reaches a height of about 25 meters and spreads up to 20 meters wide.

Southeastern Europe to Central Europe.

Growth

Double-Flowering Horse Chestnut 'Baumannii' is a rounded, upright-growing, picturesque large tree with a closed crown. It typically grows to a height of 20 to 25 meters and spreads about 12 to 20 meters wide. It grows 30 to 40 cm per year on average.

Leaves

The summer-green leaves of the Double-Flowering Horse Chestnut 'Baumannii' are dark green, palmate, and opposite. These leaves are about 10 to 20 cm in size. The tree shows bright yellow color in the autumn.
