Scarlet Horse Chestnut 'Briotii' (Aesculus carnea) is a broad, rounded tree that produces blood-red flowers. These appear in mid-May. In addition, the Scarlet Horse Chestnut 'Briotii' has palmate, dark green leaves. It thrives in a sunny to semi-shady location with well-draining, calcareous, nutrient-rich, loamy soil. Under favorable conditions, it typically reaches a height of about 15 meters and spreads up to 12 meters wide.
