Purple Horse Chestnut (Aesculus carnea) is a broad, rounded garden plant that produces pink or red flowers. They bloom from April to May. It thrives in a sunny to semi-shady location with well-draining, calcareous, nutrient-rich, loamy soil. Under favorable conditions, it typically reaches a height of about 20 meters and spreads up to 12 meters wide.
