Chinese red birch is a small tree that grows broadly and pyramidally with a loose crown. It usually reaches a height of 6 - 10 m and is approx. 4 - 6 m wide. As a rule, it grows 20 - 30 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Chinese red birch are greenish-yellow, ovate and alternate. They are about 4 - 7 cm in size. Chinese red birch turns a bright golden yellow in autumn.

Copper-brown, rolling, shiny bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

The greenish-yellow flowers of Chinese red birch appear in catkins in April.

Betula albosinensis is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Chinese red birch has good frost hardiness.

No special requirements.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Cut and saw wounds as well as broken branches should be treated with a wound dressing as soon as possible to prevent pathogens from entering the plant.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
