The Lawn – From A for Adventure Playground to Z for Ornamental Lawn

Lawn is not just a lawn. This is especially true when it comes to lawns, as opinions can vary widely. Enthusiasts cherish and care for their lawns, while hobby gardeners might forget to water them during the summer.

Of course, it all depends on the type of lawn you want. If you want a perfectly maintained ornamental lawn, you probably won’t have children playing in the garden. That’s why there’s the right lawn for every need.

The Robust Ones

For many, lawn needs to be one thing: robust. It should be durable and require little maintenance. After all, there are more important things than spending hours tending to the lawn. Especially garden owners with children will appreciate a lawn that is durable yet still looks good. Play lawn is particularly well-suited for families. It’s extremely robust and resistant. Play lawn can be used actively every day, which is why it is often planted in public parks and green spaces. It’s no surprise that it is one of the most popular types of lawn. Play lawn loves the sun and can handle dry spells without any problems. However, it does not grow well in the shade. Also robust (as it should be) is the sports lawn. As the name suggests, sports lawn is frequently used in sports facilities. It is highly durable and very strong. The most important thing is that sports lawn grows densely, making it very resistant to foot traffic. And what is strong against footsteps is also strong against weeds: sports lawn doesn’t give weeds a chance, making it the first choice for golf courses.

The Beautiful One

In school, there was always that one person who outshone everyone else with their beauty, right? The same can be said for lawns. Because when it comes to ornamental lawns, no lawn compares. Ornamental lawns are dense, lush green, and free from moss and weeds. In theory, at least. Because such a lawn doesn’t stay beautiful on its own. It requires a lot of maintenance, and only if it is regularly and properly cared for will it remain as beautiful as it is. Regular care means: mowing, watering, and fertilizing. And ideally, all at once. A well-maintained ornamental lawn can truly inspire enthusiasm in many garden owners. No wonder, because maintaining it requires a real passion. The advantage of ornamental lawns: they grow almost anywhere, on any garden soil, and in any location. This makes ornamental lawns so popular, and those who maintain them regularly will enjoy them for a long time. However, since ornamental lawns are very sensitive to stress, they are often only sown in palace gardens and parks. But, of course, no English garden would be complete without ornamental lawn. And anyone who enjoys mowing, watering, and fertilizing the lawn will be rewarded with a rich green.

The Unobtrusive One

Everyone knows those shady spots in the garden where grass just won’t grow. Until now! Because shade grass thrives where other lawn seeds wouldn’t even think of sprouting. Shade grass is perfect for those shady areas in the garden caused by shrubs, trees, or buildings. Shade grass gets only a minimal amount of what plants usually need to grow: sunlight. But that’s not a problem for shade grass, as long as it gets enough water and fertilizer. Especially during the germination phase, shade grass needs plenty of water to grow at all. Once the shade grass is established, it impresses with a dense growth that leaves little room for weeds and moss. And that’s another advantage of the shade: moss and weeds prefer to grow in the sun. Additionally, when it comes to shade grass, avoid mowing too frequently, as it doesn’t like that at all. Specialized seed mixtures from garden centers now contain the right blend of seeds to ensure even the shady spots in your garden can soon shine in lush green.
