The Coral Bells – Delicate and Graceful Beauty

Coral Bells are among the most beautiful perennials in the garden. But this delicate plant has much more to offer than just its looks.

Coral Bells are a must-have in any perennial bed. With their tiny blossoms, they are a true enrichment for any garden.

**Small but Mighty!**

Coral Bells impress with their delicate blooms. The tiny, funnel-shaped bell flowers grow in long-stemmed flower spikes, almost floating above the rest of the plant. From April to September, they transform the garden into a sea of blossoms in white, pink, or red. However, with new cultivars, it's not just the delicate flowers that catch the eye—modern varieties stand out with their vibrant foliage. The leaves can shine in a wide range of colors, from green to orange, deep red, silver, purple, and bronze.

**Reliable Beauty**

Like other perennials, Coral Bells are long-lasting plants that sprout anew in the garden each year. To ensure they thrive in their bed the following season, the withered stems should be cut back as close to the ground as possible right after flowering. For even more beauty, it's best to prune the plant before new growth begins. This encourages bushier growth and brings vibrant colors back to the garden starting in May.

**Low Maintenance and Beautiful**

Often, the most beautiful plants are also the most demanding—but not Coral Bells. As a perennial, this plant thrives in a partially shaded spot with fresh, moist, and well-drained soil. If the soil is also rich in nutrients and humus, Coral Bells will feel right at home. Otherwise, this delicate-looking plant is incredibly easy to care for. While it doesn’t tolerate waterlogging, which can cause root rot, early signs of poor growth can be a warning sign. If caught in time, the plant can recover and thrive once again.
