Flowers for Mother's Day – More Than Just a Bouquet

When Mother's Day is approaching, the question arises every year: what can you give mom? In most cases, a bouquet of flowers is bought because mothers always love fresh flowers.

This is of course not wrong, as flowers are always a great choice. But it doesn’t always have to be just a bouquet that you give your mother for Mother's Day. There are so many flower-related ideas that she will surely appreciate even more.

Creativity is key

The most personal and beautiful gift for a mother is always something that shows thought and effort. This is often much more important to mothers than the most expensive and extravagant bouquet in the world. Being creative yourself is not only often easier on the wallet, but it’s also a lot of fun. Since Mother's Day always falls on the second Sunday of May, there is already a wide selection of colorful flowers perfect for small arrangements. A creative gift for Mother's Day could be a flower in a personally decorated pot or a bouquet made from wildflowers or flowers from your own garden. Willow branches, which can be used as the base for an arrangement, look especially charming. These can be decorated using a hot glue gun and draped around the potted plant. With the hot glue gun, you can attach everything from wooden discs to felt balls to artificial flowers, which the decoration section in stores offers.

The right flowers for the mother

Before thinking about what you might like, it's important to focus on the personal preferences and tastes of the person who is receiving the gift: the mother. After all, she is the one getting the gift, and it should be something she enjoys. Does she have specific favorite flowers or colors? That makes choosing the gift a little easier. Once you’ve decided between a potted plant and a bouquet, it depends on which plants are in season. If the mother’s favorite flower is a rose, that’s not a problem. Thanks to special breeding and imports, roses are available year-round. Around Mother's Day, hydrangeas, hyacinths, tulips, and early peonies are in season. Other popular choices include sunflowers, gerberas, orchids, and ranunculuses. If the mother has her own garden, potted summer flowers are a great option. She can plant them in her garden or place them on the terrace, enjoying the beautiful flowers long after Mother's Day.

If the mother is out of reach

A visit to the mother should, of course, not only happen on Mother's Day. There’s always a reason for it. But if it's impossible to visit your mother on her special day, you can still make her happy by sending a thoughtful gift. If you truly cannot visit her under any circumstances, you can still send her a beautiful bouquet. Many florists and online vendors offer extensive services, delivering plants and flower bouquets. These include garden centers with delivery services or online shops specializing in sending bouquets. You can choose from pre-made bouquets in various colors, sizes, and combinations, and include a personal message. The bouquet will then be delivered directly to the recipient. While this may not be as personal as visiting your mother, it’s still a way to show her, no matter the distance, that you love her and are thinking of her. And since she is a mother, she will undoubtedly appreciate it immensely.
