The Aubretia 'Red Carpet' (Aubrieta x cultorum) is a cushion-shaped, cushion-forming, evergreen perennial that produces carmine-red, wheel-shaped flowers from April to May. Its egg-shaped leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Aubretia 'Red Carpet' is well tolerant of frost in sheltered locations.

The evergreen leaves of the Aubretia 'Red Carpet's are medium green, ovate.

Flower

Aubrieta x cultorum 'Red Carpet' forms wheel-shaped, carmine-red flowers from April.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The Aubretia 'Red Carpet' has good frost hardiness.

Use

Tubs, group planting, rock garden, cottage garden, bee pasture

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

Rock garden plants love loose, well-drained soil. However, as this substrate stores little water, the plants must be watered regularly for several weeks after planting, especially in dry conditions, until they are sufficiently rooted.
