The Common astilboides (Astilboides tabularis) is a spreading perennial with decorative, roundish, green leaves with dark green veins. From June to July, it bears creamy white flowers arranged in panicles. In a shady location with well-drained, lime-free, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1.1 m and grows to around 1 m wide. The Common astilboides is well tolerant of frost.

High foliage ornamental value. The deciduous leaves of the Common astilboidess are green, dark green veined, roundish. They are about 40 - 50 cm tall.

Astilboides tabularis forms creamy white flowers arranged in panicles from June.
