The Garden Paradise for the Easter Bunny and Co.

How excited we are when the first sunny days of spring lure us into the garden. The spring messengers snowdrops, crocuses, and pussy willows eagerly stretch their first heads towards us, making us forget the long winter.

However, those who want to have many other flowers by Easter are primarily dependent on when Easter falls and where they live in the country. In the sunny and mild Rhine Valley, it is even possible for the first daffodils, hyacinths, and ranunculus to bloom in the garden by the end of March.

Garden enthusiasts in higher altitudes and cooler regions have no choice but to rely on pots with bulb flowers that were pre-grown in the house or greenhouse. After being exposed to a cold stimulus, for example, daffodils, tulips, and the like can be brought into the house about 20 days before Easter and placed in a bright, warm location. The plants will then develop beautifully and bloom just in time for the holiday.

Those who have a hazel bush or pussy willow in their garden will also look forward to decorating them with ribbons, eggs, and little bunnies for Easter. It’s not a problem if the buds haven’t fully opened by the holiday. If storms are expected, wooden eggs or eggs made of cotton or plastic are safer than the valuable blown and hand-painted ones when hanging them on the shrub.

But also, cute Easter nests placed in flower beds, between shrubs, and trees create a colorful atmosphere and enrich your garden with eye-catching details. Those with a lovely seating area or terrace can decorate it, just like the festive table, with all kinds of Easter decorations. Well-filled bowls, Easter bunnies, and brightly decorated Easter eggs in all sizes should of course not be missed. This way, the winter gray finally disappears, and colorful spring enters your home.

Please don’t forget to go into the garden about three weeks before Easter to cut a few pussy willow and hazel branches, which you can then hang with eggs and decorations, so they can bloom in lush green just in time for the spring celebration. Often, such branches also root, so after the holiday, you can happily replant them in your garden.
