A colorful Easter celebration with the perfect harbingers of spring

When Easter is just around the corner, spring finally returns. With the right spring flowers in the garden, you can create the perfect atmosphere for the Easter celebration.

What would the Easter Bunny be without the right flowers to set the mood just right? There are many spring harbingers that can be beautifully arranged in the garden, on the terrace, or on the balcony for Easter, bringing vibrant color back into the scene.

Daffodils, what else?

Theoretically, the name already says it all — the ultimate Easter flowers are and always will be daffodils, also known as narcissus. They can be planted directly into the flowerbed even before Easter. However, during the spring months, the ground can still freeze frequently, which can cause the plants to wither. If you want to be on the safe side, you can place the daffodils in pots along the terrace or plant them directly in balcony boxes. It's not quite as cold there as in the flowerbed, and the plants will last longer.

Violas in the bed

Anyone who doesn't want to miss out on color in the flowerbed at Easter can turn to horned violets. These little harbingers of spring are frost-hardy, and unlike daffodils, nighttime ground frost doesn’t bother them. It's best to plant horned violets in sunny spots in the garden — that’s where they thrive best. Horned violets come in all imaginable colors, making them the perfect way to welcome spring!

The elegant classic

What would Easter and spring be without tulips? These colorful flowers have become as synonymous with Easter as the poinsettia is with Christmas. Did you know? Tulips originally come from Turkey — quite an exotic plant! The flower colors of tulips range from white, orange, yellow, pink, red, to blue. There are even black tulips now, which actually symbolize a passionate connection. And for so long, people believed that red roses stood for passion and love. How wrong one can be!
