The Barberry 'Klugowski' (Berberis gagnepainii lanceifolia) is a broad, dense, roundish shrub with decorative, black-blue, oval, elongated fruits. It produces golden yellow flowers from May to June. The Barberry 'Klugowski' also has shiny, lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide. The Barberry 'Klugowski' makes no particular demands on the soil.

Barberry 'Klugowski' is a broad, dense and rounded shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1 - 2 m and is approx. 1 - 2 m wide. Slow-growing.

The shoots of Berberis gagnepainii lanceifolia 'Klugowski' are spiny.

Leaves

The evergreen leaves of the Barberry 'Klugowski' are dark green, lanceolate, glossy, alternate, toothed. They are about 5 - 8 cm in size.

Bark

Greenish-yellow bark makes this plant an eye-catcher in any garden.

Flower

The golden yellow flowers appear from May to June.

Fruit

The black-blue, oval, elongated fruits of Berberis gagnepainii lanceifolia 'Klugowski' are particularly decorative. These appear from September.

Root

Berberis gagnepainii lanceifolia 'Klugowski' is a deep-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms densely branched roots.
