The Spotted laurel 'Crotonifolia' (Aucuba japonica) is an upright, broad shrub with decorative, bright red, round fruits. These are medium-sized. The Spotted laurel 'Crotonifolia' also has lanceolate, yellow-green, variegated leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3 m and is approx. 2.5 m wide.

Growth

Spotted laurel 'Crotonifolia' is an upright and broad-growing shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1 - 3 m and is approx. 1 - 2.5 m wide. Slow-growing.

Leaves

The evergreen leaves of the Spotted laurel 'Crotonifolia' are yellow-green, variegated, lanceolate.

Fruit

The bright red, round berries of Aucuba japonica 'Crotonifolia' are particularly decorative. These appear from September and are medium-sized.

Location

Preferred location in semi-shady to shady, wind-protected position.

Frost-free overwintering at 5 to 8°C is required.
