Abeliophyllum distichum

White forsythia is a compact growing shrub. It usually reaches a height of 1.5 - 2 m and is approx. 1.2 - 1.75 m wide. It usually grows 10 - 30 cm per year.

The deciduous leaves of the White forsythia are dark green, lanceolate, alternate.

The white flowers appear from March to the beginning of May. They grow to around 1 - 2 cm in size and are pleasantly fragrant.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

The White forsythia has good frost hardiness.

The plant has a medium water requirement.

Thinning pruning is recommended, in which only the shoots that are too dense are removed.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
