The White forsythia (Abeliophyllum distichum) is a compact shrub that produces white flowers with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from March to the beginning of May. The White forsythia also has lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 1.75 metres wide.

The deciduous leaves of the White forsythia are dark green, lanceolate, alternate.

The white flowers appear from March to the beginning of May. They grow to around 1 - 2 cm in size and are pleasantly fragrant.
