Honbeni' (Wisteria floribunda) is a climbing, branching deciduous plant that produces pink flowers arranged in clusters with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. These produce green, pod-shaped fruits. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The 'Honbeni' blue vine also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, sandy, acidic, loamy, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 9 m and is around 6 m wide.

Habit The blue vine 'Honbeni' is a creeping, branching climber that can reach a height of 8 - 9 m and a width of 4 - 6 m. It grows rapidly. It usually grows 1 - 1.5 m per year.

Leaves

The deciduous leaves of 'Honbeni' are medium green, pinnate and alternate. Honbeni' is bright yellow in the fall.

Flowering

The pink-colored flowers of 'Honbeni' bluebell vine appear in clusters from May to June. They grow to around 30 - 40 cm and are pleasantly fragrant.

Branches out extensively.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position, sheltered from the wind.
