With its medium green leaf colouring, the Blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also stands out with its upright growth. The copper-brown flower spikes adorn this grass from summer onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny location with a well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 20 cm and grows up to 20 cm wide.

The deciduous leaves of the Blue gramas are medium green, linear.

Flower

The copper-brown flowers of Blue grama appear in spikes from July to September.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Blue grama has good frost hardiness.

Use

Solitary, group planting, rock garden, pond edge, cutting

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

The plant must be protected from winter moisture.
