The Italian aster 'Veilchenkönigin' (Aster amellus) is an upright, clump-forming perennial that produces purple, cup-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from July to September. Its lanceolate leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and grows to a width of approx. 30 cm. The Italian aster 'Veilchenkönigin' is well tolerant of frost.
