With its medium green leaf colouring, the Rough feather grass (Stipa calamagrostis) is a decorative design element in the garden, which also adorns containers on balconies or terraces with its clump-forming and overhanging growth. The creamy white flower plumes adorn this grass from summer onwards. It feels most at home in a sunny to semi-shady location with a well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich, dry soil. In favourable conditions, this hardy grass reaches a height of approx. 50 cm and grows up to 40 cm wide.
