The Trailing bellflower (Campanula poscharskyana) is a flat, carpet-like, overhanging perennial that forms purple, white or blue, bell-shaped, star-shaped flowers from June to September. Its egg-shaped, serrated leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 20 cm and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Trailing bellflower is well tolerant of frost.

The deciduous leaves of Trailing bellflower are medium green, ovate, serrated.

Campanula poscharskyana forms bell-shaped, star-shaped, purple, white, blue flowers from June.

Location

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Use

Tubs, group planting, grave, roof garden, bee pasture, ground cover, rose garden

Care

- Excess water must be able to drain away easily and waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.
- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
